The story

Lots of things can break down.

Cars. Marriages. Flesh.

After another bitter argument, Laura and Danny begin the drive home with their young daughter, Rose, asleep in the back seat. Danny has been drinking — far too much — but Laura keeps her concerns to herself. Years of living with his temper have taught her that silence is often the safest option.

Then the car breaks down. Miles from anywhere. In the dead of night.

At first, it seems like an inconvenience. Then the screaming starts.

Something is moving in the darkness beyond the headlights. People — or at least they used to be. Driven by an insatiable hunger, the infected roam the roadside searching for flesh.

Laura, Danny and Rose are trapped inside a metal coffin on wheels while the world outside descends into madness. The car is running out of fuel. The windows will not hold forever.

And the monsters outside are not the only threat. Sometimes the person trapped beside you is more dangerous than whatever is trying to get in.
